President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced a three-day visit window for all youth under 17 years at the Nairobi National Park.
The president made the announcement on the evening of Saturday April 30, 2016 at the park while officiating the world’s largest burning of ivory event.
He announced that the parking fee has been waived for the youth as a part of marking the historic event.
Parents and guardians can therefore take advantage of this government offer to visit the national park before schools reopen starting Tuesday, May 3.
Nairobi National Park is the only park in the world located within a city.
On Saturday, Uhuru oversaw the burning of 105 tonnes of ivory estimated to have a value of 175 million dollars in an event that was graced by dignitaries from across the world.
It is expected to put an end to the blithe butchering of Kenya’s wildlife.
